From 1971 to 1976 there was a band in Montreal called the St. Marc Street Band that could have made a knew genre called Rock and Roar because of the way the bassist would play lead on some of the songs. You should check their music out on their MySpace page and at their blog http://stmarcstreetband.blogspot.com/ where you can get more info and pics about them and get some more of their music.
